Please share this if you love stories of life long friendship. My husband and I went separate ways two years ago yet he remains one of my closest friends. We talk on the phone a few times weekly and he is always welcome in what was once our home -- he can always come here and retreat and eat and visit. Not only does he welcome me into his home 30 miles away, he recently hosted my Mom for two days!
Since we ended our relationship as a married couple, we have been nothing but kind and sweet to each other. Today is Steve Grimes' 64th birthday and, because he has a passion for books, DVD's, CD's -- he has not made room in his life for internet or a Facebook page.
And so, today, I honor this very special man, sharing this little piece with his family and some of our extended family and friends, via internet.
Today Steve is 64. Though we no longer live together, I am very happy to say that I do still love him, now that he's 64. I do still send him Birthday Greetings (perhaps I will buy him a bottle of wine) --- and --- Steve and I are both grateful and delighted to have such a close friendship that has followed on the heels of a 29 year married relationship.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE GRIMES! Now that you're 64, I've known you exactly half your life! Thank you for being my husband, partner, friend, confidant, and teacher all these years.
I am posting this as a testimony of true love -- love beyond the typical married lifestyle -- and also for Steve's children so they may have the latest picture of their daddy and know that he is very loved!

Kenny Angel
Kenny left his body eight years ago on April 25, 2003. Today I called Steve, Kenny’s dad, to check in. I was walking and was about one hundred yards from home when I looked to the right. A brilliant rainbow, full bodied, rich and vibrant hues, with purple being the dominant color, was hovering above the mountains. The sighting of the rainbow triggered a cloud burst of tears from my eyes.
Steve and I continued chatting about Kenny’s sister, one of his cousins, and his two Grandmothers. Exactly seven minutes from the first rainbow sighting, Steve and I were ready to say goodbye and Steve said to me, “I’ll be thinking of Kenny today”. Just then another rainbow appeared before me, this time swelling with a radiant blue-green at the center. I was so surprised that I believe I may have shouted into the phone, “There is another rainbow”.
The second rainbow dissipated just as quickly as it appeared. I walked on for another thirty minutes seeking rainbows. Yet just as has been the tradition of Kenny, he continues to appear in double rainbows.
***
When Kenny left in 2003, he painted the sky with a gargantuan rainbow that very afternoon. For the first two years after he left, Kenny visited, mostly his grieving mom, in the form of not just one, but two rainbows. He picked special days to appear in his rainbow form: birthdays, the anniversary of his passing, Mother’s Day, or on the morning after I had cried myself to sleep in my longing to be near Kenny.
***
Today, April 25th, 2011, I must share that I have only seen one other rainbow in the last six months. For two to appear on this morning, just minutes after I called Kenny’s dad to honor and remember Kenny, proves to me that the angelic energy that is Kenny lives on, forever!

Lentil Burger Recipe Complete With Meal and Snack Ideas
“I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday for a Lentil Burger today.” Wimpy
Dry ingredients:
1 ½ cups lentils
3 cups raw sunflower kernels
4 cups chia seeds or flax seeds or a mixture of Flax and Chia
1 tbsp each Cumin and Coriander
2 tsp. Fennel
½ to 1 tsp Cayenne
1 tsp citric acid or juice of one lemon
2 to 3 tsp Himalayan or Pink Mountain Salt
Start 5 days ahead by placing the lentils in two mason jars, quart size, ¾ cup each jar, and soak them for 12 hours. Rinse and drain twice daily for 3 to 5 days until the tails are one to two inches long.
On the morning of day 3, put 1 ½ cups of Sunflower Kernels in a quart jar, and 1 ½ cups in a second jar.
Soak the sunflowers for 8 hours and then sprout them, rinsing three times over the next 18 - 24 hours.
Place what will likely be near 14 cups of fresh sprouts in a large bowl.
Rinse and set aside the following:
8 to 10 carrots chopped small enough to run through your food processor
6 large stalks of celery
2 onions, cut in eighths
6 peeled cloves of garlic
1 to 2 cups fresh spring water
Run all ingredients through your food processor. You want a creamy consistency without over blending so it may be best to do small batches in the food processor, one after the other. Be sure to add the spices at the very end of one of the processed loads as to not over blend the spices. Also, be sure to run the celery through the food processor for as little time as necessary in order to gain desired consistency.
Place each food processor load into a large bowl and stir it all together at the end.
Taste from the mixed glob. You may choose to add something with a little sweetness. We added 2 tbsp. of honey and 1 tsp. whole leaf stevia powder. You may opt for more salt, spices, spirulina, or some oil.
In a smaller grinder, turn chia seeds or flax seeds or a combination of the two into a fine powder.
Slowly add the Chia and/or Flax powder to the Lentil Burger Batter and then stir thoroughly.
Let this mixture sit for one hour while the flax and/or chia seed powder absorbs some of the moisture.
Make patty shapes, Wimpy Burgers, silver dollar size to small plate size patties and place on four or five dehydrator trays, on Teflex sheets or whatever sheets you use in your dehydrator.
Dehydrate at 115 degrees for 8 to 12 hours.
Flip the Lentil Burgers, remove the Teflex if possible, and dehydrate another 8 to 12 hours.
Store leftover Lentil Burgers in the refrigerator and, for leftovers, eat cold, at room temperature, or warmed up in the dehydrator for 30 minutes.
****
Breakfast: Lentil Burgers with a glass of Green Superfoods will give you lasting energy all morning.
Lunch: Take 2 very large pieces of romaine lettuce. Break up a lentil burger and wrap lentil burger bite sized pieces in the large lettuce leaves. Kale, collards, and nori sheets also work well for these wraps.
Dinner: Make a fresh tossed salad with many high water content vegetables. Break a lentil burger into small chunks or crumbles and enjoy as a flavorful and satisfying salad.
On the Go: Pack some celery sticks, lettuce, and/or cucumber. In a separate container, pack one to four lentil burgers. Be totally satisfied with this simple on the go feast.
Snack: Eat a lentil burger all by itself. As a snack alone, one might be enough as they really are best eaten with vegetables to insure hydration to the body. If you have vegetables with this snack you can eat as many as feels balanced.
With Soup: Make a blended raw soup with any of your favorite vegetables and/or superfoods. Have one to three lentil burgers on the side. Heat the leftover lentil burgers in the dehydrator for 5 to 30 minutes to warm them and release more flavor.

Superfood Soup Cleansing Feast
Today I am beginning a cleanse at 3:00 p.m. It will begin with broth made from fresh leeks, and, added to this hot broth will be Healthforce Nutritionals Vitamineral Earth. When I am sure this drink is below 105 degrees I will add in about 2 tbsp. of Healthforce Nutritionals Vitamineral Green and some sole', which is a Himalayan Rock Salt brine.
With this quart of Superfood Soup, I will take two Intestinal Movement Formula Capsules, 6 Digestive Enzymes and 6 Liver Rescue Capsules, all from Health Force.
Before bed, which will be early, I will have one quart of water with twelve Intestinal Drawing Formula Capsules.
Early to bed, as cleansing is more beneficial when we allow the body to rest, my head shall rest on the pillow by 7:30 p.m. at the latest.
Upon rising, each day for the next 7 days I shall begin the day first by practicing a technique called Oil Pulling. (see archives at http://www.superfoodpalace.com).
I intend to wake up without an alarm clock by 3:00 a.m. The oil pulling begins the moment I get out of bed, one tablespoon of coconut oil swirled in my mouth for twenty minutes while I get dressed.
During this time I prepare my morning elixir:
1 tsp AFA
1 tsp Lysine
1 tsp Camu Camu
1 tsp Shilajit
1/2 tsp Vanilla powder
1/2 tsp Acerola Cherry powder
1 tbsp. Opti MSM
extras as desired like xylitol, stevia, lemon, or sole', (again, the salt brine).
I add all this to one quart of very warm water as it is the middle of winter.
Blended or stirred, I take this morning elixir to my bedroom and apply ointments to my face and choose music for my workout.
By 3:30 I am ready for an aerobic workout on my choice of exercise equipment. I like to get very sweaty and out of breath on at least three of my seven weekly workouts.
My reward for working out before 4:00 a.m. is a gourd of Yerba Mate Tea with some High Protein Xylitol and Stevia sweetened chocolates that I make for myself. I only eat a small amount of these on the Superfood Soup Feast, perhaps only one small heart shaped piece as this motivates me to write.
After the chocolate and Yerba Mate, which I enjoy while writing, I fit in some yoga. I mix the yoga up however I like from 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and I commit to at least one hour of yoga. Some days I practice 15 minutes each hour, with focus, over a four hours stretch. Other days I enjoy 30 minutes every two hours and there are times where I engage in one full hour of yoga after writing for three.
I love the writing which is wildly inspired by the chocolate and Yerba Mate Tea.
Brunch is Superfood Soup. The broths for the soup might be made from onion, leek, celery, garlic, brudock, kale, and/or collards. If I want it "raw" I can lightly steep some herbs such as Nettle or Alfalfa and blend the superfoods with the herbal tea in a Vitamix.
With each meal of Superfood Soup I take 2 to 4 Intestinal Movement Formula capsules and 6 Liver Rescue Capsules and 6 Digestive Enzymes. I may blend in Miso or Seaweed into my Superfood Soups to make them even more probiotic and mineral rich.
Sometimes I have a protein smoothie instead of soup which is made with a Super Tonic Spiced Tea. To this tea I add medicinal mushrooms, rice protein powder, Vitamineral Green, Cacao Powder, Spirulina, Maca, Xylitol and/or Stevia, and cinnamon.
At night I take hot baths to induce a sweat.
It is my intention to take 5 Intestinal Parasite Formula Capsules with the late morning or mid-day Superfood Soup and to stay completely away from nuts and sweets for the first 7 days.
Following the 7 days, all nuts and seeds must be chewed to a soupy and cream consistency and the chocolate must become "soup like" as it melts in my mouth.
I shall continue to be on this creamy, dreamy, digestible Superfood Soup Feast with no nuts and seeds for the first 7 days and with THOROUGHLY CHEWED nuts and seeds added to the Superfood Soups for the 7 days following. After I introduce vegetables and fruits back into my diet, I shall continue to chew all my nuts, seeds, and chocolates into an easy to digest smooth and rich cream.
My main intention for doing this cleanse is to gain inspiration in the art of letting go of what is no longer needed by the body as well as letting go of some of the clutter in my home and my mind.
This is an ideal cleanse for me, a person who has very little body heat. Warm, superfood soups, as many as I desire, on this Superfood Soup Cleansing Feast!

Greens are Key
Today I had a great telephone conversation with Bob McCauley. He can be found at http://watershed.net yet to sum it up, we spoke of the freshest things in life: GREENS! I have been eating a raw food diet for 9 years yet have not yet thrived. Oh sure, I have had some great days and tons of fun, yet just at the time I got into eating raw, it was "in vogue" to eat lots of raw plant fat. This trend has not lessened in the raw circles that spin around the festivals and Facebook.
Last year at Raw Spirit Fest Dr. Doug Graham got up on the stage and said, "This is a raw food festival, and there is no produce for sale!" The sad part, except for one small fruit stand, is that this was true. OK, there was one other vendor that had some cucumbers and tomatoes but when I went there to purchase some cucumbers he said he could only sell me three; he was almost out!
Greens, greens, greens! It is so easy, so obvious, yet so many of us tend to overlook that which is right under our nose. When I go for walks (I live in the Country) ALL that I see is GREEN! There are rabbits, boar, fox, deer, and an occasional bear wandering around and they are eating greens. The rabbits and deer are so fast, so lithe, and incredibly strong. I long to be strong, yet quick, light on my feet, clean, and green!
Lately I have been blending blueberries, strawberries, cinnamon, garlic, cucumber and spinach in the Vitamix. I was putting lots of spirulina in it and Ancient Sun Nutrition's Blue Green Algae, http://www.ancientsunnutrition.com yet the last couple of days tried it without. I think tomorrow I will add it back in; much more energizing, however, sometimes I like to drink my Blue Green Algae in water in the morning and have my spirulina in my smoothies and green soups later in the day.
Bob McCauley says he puts green powders like these on everything!
I think Bob may have more energy than anyone I have ever met. I am totally inspired and so will close now and go pump iron!!!!
Happy June, the time of year when greens are thriving and you too!

Kenny Melted Into My Heart
The last time I hugged Kenny Grimes was April 25th, 2003. He was 16, almost 17, and he drove away on that seemingly quiet morning, a gentle snow fell outside, yet the rain became heavy on his drive.
Kenny is a radiant and loving soul and his essence came through in the flash of his dazzling smiles, the warmth of his constant hugs, his golden aura; this kid had a heart of gold and was truly golden.
(For those of you following my juice feasting, I did not blog the whole time but did end up doing a 32 day modified juice feast) I add this here because, interestingly enough, the last two meals I prepared for Kenny were fresh squeezed orange juice with blue-green algae. He had one glass of 7 fresh oranges on the last evening we were together, and I sat by his feet and gave him a foot massage. Kenny had the smoothest and warmest feet, like satin even though he was a cross country runner and he walked with me daily most days of his life on earth.
The last morning we were together, I served him 7 more oranges, fresh squeezed into a juice, with blue green algae, probiotics, red marine algae, enzymes. He then jumped on the rebounder and drank 4 ounces of straight kale juice. This kid had glowing health, he could have lived in his body forever. (yes, he ate "junk" too, but he had nothing but pure thoughts, a sweet heart, and a brilliant mind.)
But he left his body that rainy day, five hours after the highway accident, a long surgery, his insides shredded, wounded, destroyed.
Kenny was and is the love of my life, right up there with his Daddy.
This morning I dreamed of a circus. There were many of the folks from our small town present watching the circus. I recognized some of Kenny's friends from his childhood, all grown up now. And then, off to the side, in the dream, there was Kenny, still age 16, the same haircut, the same sweatshirt, sitting there trying to go unnoticed. I went to him and wanted to hug him and he indicated that we could not hug. And then, just a bit later, his dad was able to hug him. I could not resist and so I went to him and opened my arms and, well, I had no choice, I had to hug him. He granted my wish, we hugged, and then he disappeared, as in vaporized, like twinkle powder, magic dust, sparkling moist golden glitter right into my heart. It was a hot golden mist that became a part of me. But again, he was gone from his physical form.
And I woke up. I was both happy and sad. He was so close, yet he slipped away. Again. Angel dust. How does he do that? Why does he do that? As his mom all I ever wanted was to hug him forever, to see him, talk with him, walk with him, be at his wedding, know his children, you know, all the earthly stuff.
And as his mom all I ever wanted was the best for him. The way I have gotten through 6 years of missing Kenny is by knowing that somehow his angelic and heavenly existence is what is best for him.
There is a link on my Facebook page, a few photos of Kenny Grimes, that my loving sister posted April 25th, 2009. http://www.facebook.com/people/yogi-suzi/1022280124 or simply find me the photos on my Yogi Suzi Facebook page, on the left side there is a link to the album.
I have the pictures and the essence of Kenny in my heart and his photos grace our walls.
Outside, plants that were given to us at his service six years ago thrive in full bloom because it is spring, because they too are remembering Kenny, Kenny Grimes, who lives on and on.

Birthday Blog
Today is my birthday and I am 45 years young. This last year for the first time in my life I noticed severe signs of aging. I was feeling rigid in my bones and looking wrinkled in my face and beyond. Five months ago I searched the web for topicals to reduce my wrinkles and then I learned what I knew before; wrinkles come from dehydration. Juice Feasting rehydrates us! Yippee! I will say that I am highly inspired on this beautiful day and am so grateful for all my loving friends and family. I am also quite appreciative of the abundance of vegetables and fruits that I have been able to juice and enjoy. Seven more days of juicing is my intention, and so far my Juice Feast has been modified, but even with only juice feasting on some of the last 17 days I feel much, well, juicier! I recommend the modified Juice Feast to anyone and for all to know that even modified, a few treats here and there, we will still achieve far greater hydration and mineralization through this practice. Enjoy and may you be renewed too, birthday or not.
